South Carolina Dental Association Dental Access Days (SCDA DAD)

SCDA DAD Launched in 2003 by the American Dental Care Foundation over 30,000 patients nationwide have been served and about $30 million worth of dental care have been provided free to those who were underserved – for whatever reason.

Dental care is either unavailable or an unaffordable luxury for many adults living in South Carolina. It is common to find residents with severe pain, discomfort, and embarrassment due to poor oral health. In order to address access to care for many indigent South Carolinians, the South Carolina Dental Association has launched a dental access initiative. Dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, lab technicians and community volunteers come together to treat adult patients in need. Cleanings, restorations and extractions are offered with no charge to the patient.

As a dental professional you can become an integral part of this wonderful project but donating the gift of your time. Dental assistants are needed at chairside, taking radiographs, sterilization, patient registration and check-out.

More information on upcoming events will be posted soon so please check back often!
